  5. Hi--just discovered your site via Ravelry and I am (gulp) going to attempt this beautiful bowl. Now that I've glimpsed it, the one I'm working on looks oh so primitive. So....I've watched the Moebius CO video and am heading out to my knitting store for my 47" circular needle.

    Wish me luck!

    And Thank You!!

  7. Hi Liat,

I am having a lot of trouble with my moebius. I understand the CO and have now made 2 small bowls to the stage of the applied I-cord. So now I am looking at what looks like 2 twisted headbands. The first headband, I don't think I had 5 cable crosses, so I made another one. Now this 2nd one looks like I could have 4 "petals", but no matter how I twist this headband-ring, I can't get 5 petals. So:

    1. Maybe I didn't have 5 cable crosses in the first place?
    2. Should it be easy to just plop the moebius down and clearly see the 5 petals?
    3. I thought the small bowl would be easier to make, but now thinking that with the large bowl it might be easier to see the petals.

I have watched the Cat B. CO video many times, so I do get that. I also watched your pentafold video many times. I am guessing that I didn't have the 5 twists in the cable.

I can tell that this will be fun once I get the hang of it! I will go back and re-watch your pentafold video again.

If you have any comments or suggestions, I'd appreciate it.

  8. Hi Catheroo,

This happened to me once, too. I made a moebius and thought I didn't have the five twists. I couldn't believe it! I was sure I had done it right.

What I did was to use a safety pin to mark and sort of hold each twist, around the outside edge. Every time the border crossed itself, I put a safety pin. After doing this I was able to find the five twists after all.

Sometimes two twists look like one. Just keep messing with it. You can even get it wet, as everything will lay perfectly still and flat if it is wet.

You can also start a thread in the Ravelry group (http://ravelry.com/groups/knitfreedom) and post a picture, so I can see what's going on.

    I hope this helps!
